Wolverhampton vs. Brighton Hove & Albion
Wolves dropped a tough 1-0 road match to Manchester United last weekend. They had a ton of scoring opportunities, but simply couldn’t find the back of the net. As for Brighton, they cruised to a 4-1 home victory over Luton Town in the 2023-2024 opener. This match is set for 10:00 a.m. ET on Saturday from Molineux Stadium in Wolverhampton.
There’s certainly a concern about where the scoring will come from for Wolves this season. However, they played well above expectations against a sluggish Man Utd. squad last week. With them returning home and Gary O’Neil having a full week with his club, I think they’ll put out a much more polished product.
As for the Seagulls, they’re certainly trending in the right direction as an organization and they’ve used their offense to propel them. They netted 72 goals last year (4th) and are already off to a hot start in the new campaign. I’m expecting at least one tally from Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

Manchester City vs. Newcastle United
The marquee matchup of the weekend features a battle between Manchester City and Newcastle United. Both clubs cruised to wins last weekend, winning their matches by a combined seven goals. Kickoff for the Saturday nightcap is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET from the Etihad.
This line feels way too low in my opinion. I mean, these teams combined for eight goals last weekend with City taking care of Burnley (3-0) and Newcastle dominating Aston Villa (5-1). We have two of the most talented forwards in the PL squaring off with Erling Haaland (2 goals) and Alexander Isak (2 goals). This is a big early-season match and I expect these clubs to rely on their offenses to try and secure the three points. Give me BTTS here.

Crystal Palace vs. Arsenal
The Matchday 2 action concludes on Monday afternoon as Crystal Palace hosts Arsenal at Selhurst Park. This one is slated for a 3:00 p.m. ET kickoff from London.
I’m pretty confident in saying Arsenal finds the back of the net at least once in this tie. They scored two goals in their 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend. Those goal scorers were Eddie Nketiah (26’) and Bukayo Saka (32’). The club amassed 14 shots (6 on target) while dominating 82% of the possession.
However, Crystal Palace isn’t one of those teams that just rolls over and goes into a defensive shell €“ especially at home. Last year, the Eagles posted a 7-7-5 record at home and notched 21 goals. Those aren’t overwhelming numbers, but 28 of their 45 points (62.2%) came at their home ground. Arsenal’s decent in their own half, but I think Crystal Palace will do enough offensively to score at least once. In the last 10 head-to-head matches, this showdown has seen the over go 7-3. There have been 33 combined goals (AFC 18, CPFC 15).
